Volunteer Opportunities

 
      Mayor Mel Ponder reads to the kids

 
 Every day is a great day to read during our Summer Reading Program! Kids will get to experience new and exciting stories every Tuesday and Thursday with Mr. Will and his guest presenters.

Also returning this year are our Summer Reading Logs. For every 10 on-level books your children read they will earn a stack of awesome prizes! Last year's prizes includeed free meals at Whataburger, Applebee's, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, as well as free admission to the Bart Rockett magic show at Harborwalk Village.
To pick up your blank reading logs, see Mr. Will at the Reference Desk or any of our Circulation Desk staff. Logs can be turned in any time during the Summer Reading Program.




Young Adult Summer Internship

 Every Wednesday, June 8 - July 27
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

      Summer Intern visits NWFSC

 
Students selected for the Summer Library Internship will fulfill their internship with the assistance and direction of professional librarians and support provided by library staff and guest lecturers/activity leaders. Students will gain insight into the different facets of library operation, as well as many of the skills that are necessary to succeed in today's media-rich academic environment.

Participation in the Summer Library Internship will count toward students' community service graduation and scholarship requirements.

Traveler Maps

Travel across the country and around the globe this summer - by reading!

Cross-Country and World Traveler maps are available in the CE and Juvenile Nonfiction sections of the Destin Library.

Children can earn stamps by reading books that correspond to the different regions on their maps.

Cuddlers and Toddlers Storytime

 
Every Thursday, 9:30 am
Age Range: 0-4 years

 **This program will be replaced with the Summer Reading Program for Ages 0-5 from June 16 through July 21**

 
     Cuddlers and Toddlers Storytime


Sing songs and read stories with Mr. Will every Thursday morning! This program is a lapsit-style storytime for parents and children ages 0-4.
