Meeting Schedule
Requirements
An applicant must be a resident of the City of Destin (
see map). For the
Harbor CRA Advisory Committee and the Town Center CRA Advisory Committee, an applicant must be a resident of the City of Destin and must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Resident of their respective redevelopment area
- Owner of a business in their respective redevelopment area
- Employee of a business located in the redevelopment area
- Property owner in their respective redevelopment area
- Principal of property owner in their respective redevelopment area
Airport Compatibility Advisory Committee
This committee discusses issues relating to airport compatibility, including providing recommendations to the city and county concerning applications for various development proposals and plan amendments identified in the agreement.
- Meetings: Quarterly meeting called by the county's airports director
Board of Adjustment
This committee hears and decides upon applications for variances, special exceptions and administrative appeals when it is alleged there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of any zoning ordinance.
- Meetings: First Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. as needed
Code Enforcement Board
This board administers fines and other noncriminal penalties to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing the codes and ordinances of the city, where a pending or repeated violation continues to exist.
- Meetings: Fourth Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. as needed
Construction Regulation Board
This board establishes and prescribes rules and regulations for the construction industry to ensure competent and honest contractors provide safe, stable and long-lived products or services to the citizens of Destin.

Environmental / Tree Committee
This committee focuses on environmental issues that will improve the appearance, aesthetics and ecological quality of life for our community and develops/administers a comprehensive community tree management program for those trees on public property.
- Meetings: Fourth Tuesday of every month at 4 p.m.
Harbor & Waterways Board
This board inventories all existing and potential sources of pollution; monitors the overall condition of Destin Harbor; reviews and recommends plans for future growth development of Destin Harbor, including the review of projects requested to be located on the harbor; and reviews plans for development on the waterways of Destin, including Choctawhatchee Bay, bayous and other estuaries.
- Meetings: Fourth Monday of every month at 5:00 p.m.
Harbor Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Advisory Committee
This committee provides recommendations to the CRA Board of Directors on how best to implement the adopted Harbor CRA Plan.
- Meetings: Second Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
Local Planning Agency
This agency acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters relating to the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code amendments, rezonings and vacations of rights of way / easements.
- Meetings: First and third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
Public Works/Public Safety Committee
This committee identifies and reviews various functional areas relating to public works, including street construction and maintenance, public parking areas, sidewalks, city rights of way and the like, assesses the need for projects relating to matters of public safety including, but not limited to traffic signals, street lights, crosswalks and the like and makes recommendations to the City Council.
- Meetings: Second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
Recreation Committee
This committee identifies and recommends to the City Council projects relating to recreational matters, including the need for additional parks and recreational programs and facilities for the citizens and visitors of Destin.
- Meetings: Second Monday of every month at 4 p.m.
Town Center Community Redevelopment Area Advisory (CRA) Committee
This committee provides recommendations to the CRA Board of Directors on how best to implement the adopted Town Center CRA Plan.
- Meetings: Quarterly on third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Youth Council
The Youth Council provides Destin’s youth with the opportunity to participate in the city’s decision-making process through recommendations to the City Council that address youth issues, promote existing positive programs, and develop programs, projects and activities for the young people in the City of Destin; thereby promoting and encouraging the youth to become effective leaders in the community by helping shape the future of Destin.
