Councilman Cyron Marler

Biographical Information

Cyron Marler was born and raised in Destin and is a member of one of the city's founding families. He enjoys reading, listening to gospel, Christian and country music, and working with his hands in electrical, carpentry and general handyman projects.

  • First elected to the Destin City Council in March 2000
  • Re-elected unopposed to a second term in March 2004
  • Elected to a third term in 2012
As a voice for the common, blue-collar citizen, Marler is active in workforce, affordable housing, transportation issues and the harbor boardwalk. When not serving on council, he has served on the Public Works / Public Safety Committee and the Board of Adjustment.

Community Involvement

Marler is an active member of Village Baptist Church where he uses his vocal talents in the choir and praise team. He also lends his speaking and singing voice to various city functions including the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, Founder’s Day and Memorial Day celebrations. Cyron performs the National Anthem and is a co-master of ceremonies for the Red, White and Blue Celebrations during the summer at Harborwalk Village.
