Matthew Sweetser is a fifth generation descendant of one of Destin’s founding families, the Maltezos. Born and raised along the beautiful Destin Harbor, Matthew has been blessed to live in the heart of Destin where he attended Destin Elementary, Destin Middle School and graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School.
Matthew’s passion is to preserve the history of Destin and continue his families’ deep-rooted legacy of community involvement. While witnessing the growth of Destin over the years, Matthew is reminded daily of his family’s recollections and the epic stories told of how his ancestors were the first of the fishermen in the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village,” which now has become a world famous vacation destination.
Matthew has over twenty years experience in the hospitality and rental industry throughout the Emerald Coast. His future plans include reopening and operating his beloved grandparents antique and gift store in Destin’s Town Center.
