• 1st Annual Wag-n-Walk & 5K Run/Walk with your dog on Saturday, Nov. 16.

• Christmas Outdoor Decorating Contest: Judging will take place from December 1-15.
- Best Decorated Home
- Best Decorated Business
- Best Decorated Organization
- Best overall Holiday
- Best Decorated Condominium
- Best on the Harbor
Winners will be announced December 21st, 2013 in the Destin Log and will be recognized by the mayor during the Jan. 6, 2014, City Council Meeting.

• 27th Annual Tree Lighting: December 5, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Destin Community Center

• 5th Annual Holiday Craft Show on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8.
- Now accepting vendor applications. See the Special Events page on the city website,, or visit the Community Center to receive an application.
- There will be hand-crafted jewelry, woodcarvings, watercolor paintings and much more from over 50 vendors! Admission is free. Please call the Community Center at 654-5184 for more info.

• 28th Annual Destin’s Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m.
- Watch the parade from the northern sidewalk on Harbor Blvd. between Main St. and Stahlman Ave.

• Destin History & Fishing Museum’s 27th Annual Holiday On the Harbor & Lighted Boat Parade on Sunday, Dec. 15
- Boat line up starts at 5 p.m.
- Parade starts at 6 p.m.

• Holiday Baking Class on Friday, Dec, 20, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Class taught by Chef Jim Shirah at the Destin Community Center.
- Open to youth ages 8-14.
- The fee is $40 for Destin residents and $45 for non-residents.
- Each student will learn how to bake and bring home several holiday cookies, treats and more.
- Preregistration is required. Please call 654-5184 for more information.

• Holiday Basketball 3-on-3 Shootout on Saturday, Dec. 21
- Double elimination tournament will feature 30-minute, 3-on-3 basketball games.
- Slam dunk contest and 3-point shootout.
- Games begin at 9 a.m.
- Fees are $50 per team; $2 entry fee for the slam dunk contest and $2 entry fee for the 3-point shootout if not participating in tournament. All participants must be at least 17 years old. Teams can register at the Community Center until 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13. Late entries will not be accepted. Please call the Community Center at 654-5184.

• New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Harbor
- Early show is tentatively scheduled for 8 p.m. (time is subject to change)
- Late show will begin at midnight.
Sponsors include; the City of Destin, A.J.’s Seafood & Oyster Bar and Harborwalk Village Merchants.
